Position Summary:
The Compensation & Benefits Specialist will be responsible for administering and managing employee compensation programs, payroll processes, statutory benefits, and leave management in compliance with the Dominican Labor Code. This role ensures accurate payroll execution, proper handling of vacations, and deductions, while supporting internal stakeholders and maintaining compliance with labor regulations. The position requires intermediate English skills.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Dominican labor and tax regulations.
- Calculate and process employee salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and other compensation components.
- Submit payroll reports and supporting documentation to the Finance department within established deadlines for review, approval, and payment execution.
- Ensure proper administration of vacation accruals, usage, and payouts in accordance with the Dominican Labor Code.
- Apply and monitor payroll deductions, and other authorized discounts.
- Maintain accurate employee records related to compensation, benefits, and payroll.
- Ensure vacation payments and adjustments are correctly reflected in payroll and communicated to Finance.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, vacations, and deductions.
- Assist in the review and improvement of compensation and benefits policies and procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Intermediate English level (reading, writing, and basic verbal communication).
- Strong knowledge of the Dominican Labor Code and local payroll regulations.
- Experience managing vacations, payroll deductions, and statutory benefits.
- Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in compensation, benefits, and payroll administration.
