Jr. System Administrator Specialist (SDQ)
Product Specialist:
The Systems Administrator administers internal systems, manages support services, and ensures an efficient IT infrastructure. The role is essential in optimizing systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting teams leveraging technology for business success. This position reports directly to the Systems Administrator team lead and collaborates across departments to ensure smooth technology operations. The role requires a high degree of independence and the ability to solve problems without step-by-step guides, especially in a remote work environment.
Responsibilities:
Internal Systems Management
● Administer all internal systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
● Install and configure software, hardware, and networks based on business requirements.
● Manage devices using Intune MDM, including MacBooks, ensuring secure and efficient operation.
● Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, with a focus on proactive problem-solving.
● Ensure timely updates and patches for all managed systems to prevent security vulnerabilities.
● Implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss risks.
Support Desk and IT Services
● Support the internal help desk, ensuring timely resolution of user issues and maintaining high user satisfaction.
● Manage Microsoft 365 services, including strong proficiency in Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams, while optimizing their usage within the organization.
● Ensure the security and reliability of IT infrastructure, safeguarding company data and assets.
● Document support procedures and processes for future reference, ensuring continuity and consistency in service delivery.
System Optimization and Team Support
● Troubleshoot MacBook and other device issues with experience in both hardware and software resolution.
● Assist with system consolidation initiatives to enhance performance and streamline business operations.
● Work independently and figure out solutions without needing detailed guides, especially when working remotely.
● Research and implement new technologies or software that align with business needs and growth goals
Required Skills/Abilities:
● Advanced English proficiency
● Proven ability to work independently and solve issues with minimal supervision.
● Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex IT issues creatively and efficiently.
● Communication: Ability to simplify complex IT concepts and communicate them effectively to stakeholders with varying technical knowledge.
● Critical Thinking: Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously while navigating complex systems and processes.
● Self-Starter: Able to proactively tackle tasks and drive initiatives without requiring constant oversight.
● Analytical and Creative: Strong ability to troubleshoot and optimize IT systems creatively and efficiently.
● Collaborative: Builds strong working relationships across departments to facilitate smooth technology operations.
● Consultative: Actively listens and provides solutions tailored to the needs of various teams.
Education and Experience:
● A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Network Administration or Cybersecurity is desirable.
● Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365, Intune MDM, Azure Active Directory, and cloud-based software. Apple Certified Support Technician (ACST) certification for troubleshooting MacBook devices
