Career Coach (SDQ)
Position Summary:
The Career Coach at Horatio plays a pivotal role in fostering employee growth and advancing career development initiatives across the organization. This position is dedicated to empowering employees at all levels by providing personalized coaching and supporting the implementation of programs that enhance internal mobility and performance.
Working at the intersection of individual coaching and program development, this role ensures employees have clear, accessible pathways for professional growth. This position works in close collaboration with Learning and Development subject matter experts, HR Business Partners, and the executive board to build a culture of continuous development and internal advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
Individual Career Coaching
● Conduct confidential, one-on-one coaching sessions with employees to support their professional development and career aspirations.
● Assist employees in creating and maintaining robust Individual Development Plans (IDPs) to address skill gaps and achieve career goals.
● Guide employees in exploring internal career paths, understanding competency requirements, and preparing for future roles within the organization.
● Provide coaching on resume building, internal interview preparation, and effective networking strategies.
Career Development & Support
● Partner with L&D Subject Matter Experts to contribute to the design and implementation of new career development programs, such as mentorship and job shadowing opportunities.
● Support the management and promotion of existing career development resources and tools.
● Collaborate with stakeholders to help build and refine career pathing frameworks for various departments and roles.
Evaluation and Reporting
● Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of coaching and career programs.
● Prepare reports on key career development needs, and internal mobility rates.
● Stay updated on best practices in career coaching and development, particularly within the BPO industry, to continuously improve program
outcomes.
Collaboration and Partnership
● Work closely with Learning and Development subject matter experts, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and the executive board to ensure career initiatives are aligned with organizational needs.
● Act as a key resource for the executive board on how to have effective career conversations with their team members.
● Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance career development resources, tools, and delivery methods.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of career assessment tools and evaluations (e.g., STEN, DiSC, StrengthsFinder).
- Adaptive and flexible, with a problem-solving mindset.
- High degree of empathy, emotional intelligence, and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Proactive, influential, and committed to fostering a positive and empowering environment for employee growth.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Counseling, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Career Coaching are highly advantageous.
- 1+ years of experience in Learning & Development, career coaching, or a
- similar role.
- Experience in a BPO or a similar fast-paced environment is preferred.
